Tracy Dunn | Designer & Textile Artist

Tracy was born in Zimbabwe and trained at Michaelis Art School, Cape Town, graduated in 1977 with a Diploma in Interdisciplinary Studies (Design) with a major in painting. She returned to Zimbabwe and worked there before  emigrating  to Australia with her family in 1989. Tracy has worked as an exhibiting and commissioned artist, illustrator, Set Decorator on feature films, designed books, magazines, graphics, interiors & fabrics.

Tracy works from her Clovelly home where she has a studio nestled in a lush garden filled with succulents. She lives with her partner Michael Phillips a production designer and lecturer at AFTRS and their home is filled with eclectic sculptures, paintings and books that reflect their personal history in both Africa and the many years they have worked in the Australian Film industry. Both are luminaries of Australian film and much loved and admired as mentors and practitioners.

Tracy now has found the time to  refine her art practice and has returned to her studio to paint silk. Tracy's silk scarves & sarongs are  hand painted with the finest silk pigments, each piece is signed and dated to attest to its individual provenance much like a painting . You can find Tracy's work for sale on her website  scarf.
